I started practicing law in October 2000, at the nation’s preeminent transportation law firm. In my more than 20 years of practice with the firm, I routinely represented motor carriers, brokers, warehouses, and other transportation service providers in a practice that included cargo claims, freight charge issues, bankruptcy risk mitigation, contracts (transportation, business, and technology), collections, FDA and related regulatory issues, and more. I have also represented select businesses and individuals on non-transportation matters, including business litigation, preference claim defense, contract drafting, negotiation, and more.
After enjoying working remotely in 2020 and 2021, I sought a different way to practice, one that better fits my vision for my next 20 years as an attorney. I thrived working alone from home, without the commute or the distractions of a large office environment.
It was with this goal in mind, that I formed Helmreich Law LLC. When you call our office, I’m typically the person who answers the phone. There is no commercial office space – our entire team is working from their homes. Simple. Streamlined. Efficient. This structure allows us to decide who to work for, and what projects to accept, to work hourly, or to quote flat fees when appropriate for your legal project.
As we expand to continue to serve the needs of our growing client base, we intend to keep these founding principles in mind. Hiring talent where that talent can be found and allowing our team to not only work from where they want to work but to define how the practice of law fits into their broader life. Kaelyn Skye Lingenfelter, Esq.
Skye is an associate attorney at Helmreich Law who joined in the Fall of 2021. Skye attended Indiana University Robert McKinney School of Law on a full scholarship and graduated in December of 2020. Prior to law school, Skye graduated cum laude from the University of Southern Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and summa cum laude from Lipscomb University with a master’s degree in Psychology.
Skye is essential to our contract, cargo claim, and litigation practice areas, among others. Skye is licensed in the State of Tennessee, and she practices from her home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Skye is a member of Transportation Intermediaries Association and Transportation Lawyer’s Association.

Megan K. Bolt, ESQ.
Megan is a senior associate attorney at Helmreich Law who joined in the Spring of 2023. Megan attended law school on scholarship and graduated in May, 2014 from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
Prior to law school, Megan graduated cum laude from Ball State University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology and Political Science. Prior to joining Helmreich Law, Megan practiced in a broad range of areas including: civil litigation, criminal prosecution as a major felony prosecutor, criminal defense, and judicial clerkships. Throughout her legal career, Megan routinely represented a wide range of individuals throughout all stages of litigation all over the state.
Megan lives in central Indiana, and when weather allows, can be spotted cruising on windy roads in one of her two Corvettes. Megan also has a passion for fitness, hiking, traveling, animals, and sports.
Megan uses her broad skill set to represent transportation service providers in cargo claims, business matters, freight charge issues, and collections and is essential to our litigation practice.
Megan is admitted to practice in all Indiana courts, and a member of Transportation Intermediaries Association and Transportation Lawyer’s Association.
